The mycoProfile Storage 4 is a competitive, particle-based immunoassay for the quantitative determination of the mycotoxins Alternariol (AOH)/Alternariol monomethyl ether (AME), Tenuazonic acid (TEA), aflatoxins (AFL) and ochratoxin A (OTA) in various food and feed matrices.
Aflatoxins and ochratoxin A are produced by Aspergillus and Penicillium species under storage conditions and therefore belong to the group of storage mycotoxins. Aflatoxins are commonly found in corn, nuts, dried fruits, and spices and have a high carcinogenic potential. Ochratoxin A is typically found in grains, coffee, wine, and dried products and is best known for its nephrotoxic and immunosuppressive effects.
The Alternaria toxins AOH, AME, and TEA are produced by Alternaria species in the field and are therefore classified as field mycotoxins. They are mainly found in cereals, tomatoes and tomato products, oilseeds, and fruit. AOH and AME have genotoxic and cytotoxic properties, while TEA is primarily significant for its acute toxic effects, including on protein synthesis.
The mycoProfile Storage 4 enables rapid and reliable detection of the four storage mycotoxins in one analysis and is ideal for routine quality assurance testing.
