The mycoProfile Storage 3 is a competitive, particle-based immunoassay for the quantitative determination of the three mycotoxins tenuazonic acid (TEA), aflatoxins (AFL) and ochratoxin A (OTA) in various food and feed matrices.
Aflatoxins and ochratoxin A are primarily formed by Aspergillus and Penicillium species under storage conditions and therefore belong to the group of so-called storage mycotoxins. Aflatoxins are frequently found in maize, nuts, dried fruit and spices and have a high carcinogenic potential. Ochratoxin A is typically found in cereals, coffee, wine and dried products and is primarily known for its nephrotoxic and immunosuppressive effects.
TEA is produced by Alternaria species in the field and are therefore classified as field mycotoxins. It is mainly found in cereals, tomatoes and tomato products, oilseeds, nuts and fruit. TEA is primarily significant for its acute toxic effects, including on protein synthesis.
The mycoProfile Storage 3 enables rapid and reliable detection of the three mycotoxins in one analysis and is ideal for routine quality assurance testing.
